"Kiss You All Over" is a 1978 song performed past the group Exile, written by Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn. It was included on the ring's album Mixed Emotions, and featured lead vocalist Jimmy Stokley and guitarist J.P. Pennington on vocals.

On the American Peak 40 broadcast of May 26, 1979, Casey Kasem reported that Chapman stated his source of inspiration for "Osculation Y'all All Over" was "Information technology'south Ecstasy When You Lay Down Side by side to Me" by Barry White.

The song was a number i single in the Usa, but proved to be Exile's only big hit in the popular market (they would subsequently have bully success on the state music charts). It held the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks (starting September 30),[2] and Billboard ranked it as the No. 5 vocal for 1978. The track besides reached number-ane in at to the lowest degree three other nations.

Eurodance trio No Mercy's 1997 remixed version past Johnny Cruel and Darrin "Spike" Friedman reached number-i on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.[26] It also reached number 16 on the UK Singles Chart and number 47 in Australia.

Critical reception [edit]

Larry Moving picture of Billboard magazine wrote that "there's no denying that No Mercy's eponymous anthology is several notches above standard trip the light fantastic toe/pop fare—every bit evidenced past this Latin-spiced rendition of Exile'southward '70s-era hit." He noted that "the song'south hook thrives inside FMP's arrangement of swirling house beats and flamenco guitars." He also added "factor in the act's sweet harmonies".[27] Diana Valois from The Forenoon Telephone call picked "Kiss You All Over" as the "second all-time cut" of the anthology, describing information technology as "a full-blown flamenco exotica cover".[28] Music & Media commented that "this highly successful trio has given this song a poppy-flamenco treatment that is probable to mean it will nautical chart all over the place again, something that proves that good songs last a long while."[29]
